Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia. Last year, with the help of numerous donors, volunteers and a caring, committed community, the food bank distributed enough food for 73 million meals to partner programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes.

At Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland, their mission is to serve those in need by acquiring and distributing donated food, grocery items, and government commodities throughout almost 16,000 square miles of Kentucky. They serve 42 of Kentucky’s counties through a network of more than 225 partner agencies.

Jeffie's Choice: The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri on February 25th, 2021.

The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is a regional disaster and hunger relief network that acquires and distributes millions of pounds of food annually to partner agencies across a 32-county area.

As a member of Feeding America, The Food Bank is able to work with manufacturers, wholesalers, processors, growers, retailers and restaurants to secure donations and food at reduced costs.

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $3,750.00 to Hoosier Hills Food Bank on February 23th, 2021.

Hoosier Hills Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides over four million pounds of food annually to over 100 other non-profits serving people with low incomes and personal challenges, children, and seniors. HHFB member agencies serve an estimated 7,500 people each week and 25,800 individuals annually.

More than 1.1 million people in the 18 southeast Texas counties served by Houston Food Bank are considered food insecure, meaning they lack consistent access to enough nutritious food to fuel a healthy life. In order to address this issue, the Houston Food Bank distributes food and other essentials to those in need through a network of 1,500 community partners.

Second Harvest Foodbank exists to end hunger in southwestern Wisconsin. Since 1986 Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin has put more than 100 million meals on the tables of the 1 in 10 who are facing hunger in southwestern Wisconsin.

Central CA Food Bank is dedicated to ending hunger in Central California. They provide food to more than 220 agencies in Fresno, Madera, Kings, Kern and Tulare Counties and serve over 280,000 people each month totaling over 40 million pounds of food served in fiscal year 2019.

Last year, Utah Food Bank distributed 38 million meals via a statewide network of 182 partner agencies located in all 29 counties. In addition to being one of only a handful of food banks that distributes food free-of-charge to partner agencies, they also offer several direct service programs to help the most vulnerable populations in their state — children and seniors.

At Multi-Service Center, they help to strengthen communities throughout South King County. They address the causes and barriers of poverty and homelessness with comprehensive and holistic services that help to lift people from crisis and vulnerability to self-sufficiency and stability. Second Harvest Food Bank leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education, and disaster response. Second Harvest provides food and support to 700+ community partners and programs across 23 parishes. Their staff and volunteers distribute the equivalent of more than 32 million meals to 210,000+ people a year.

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to Second Harvest Food Bank of ECI on September 22nd, 2020.

Second Harvest Food Bank of ECI, the region’s largest hunger-relief organization with a network of 96 agency partners and 35 schools in Blackford, Delaware, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph and Wabash counties, is carefully monitoring developments regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus). Their goal, at this time, is to increase food availability to their communities in phases.

Student Support Network’s mission is to improve the lives of Baltimore County students living in poverty by providing food, other basic necessities, and advocacy support. The Network partners with school staff to assist qualified students in need to improve their lives and support their education through the provision of food, clothing, educational supplies and other critical items.

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to North Texas Food Bank on April 23rd, 2020.

The ongoing COVID-19 crisis leaves many without steady income and NTFB has seen an exponential increase in the need for food assistance. For example, NTFB’s mobile pantry distributions have surged from serving an average of 300 households to serving 1,000 to almost 2,000 households per distribution. Since March 15th, they have served 12,758 families through these drive-thru Mobile Pantry distributions. Their mobile units are being deployed daily.
